Current research interests

Research interests

In the last 15 years her research has been focused on the sphingolipid metabolism, the signalling pathways triggered by sphingosine 1-phosphate in various mammalian cell types (muscle and cardiac cells and tumoral cells) and on the regulation of enzymes involved in the control of cellular levels of lipid mediators, such as phospholipase D, sphingomyelinase and ceramidase.

More recently, her research has been also focus on the role of Connexin 43, Gap junction communication and Stretch-activated channels (TRCP) in cell proliferation and myogenesis in skeletal muscle satellite cells..

In the last year, her reaserch has been finalized to the nantechonology field:   identification of new protocols for nanoparticles from plants. and phage display library for nanoantibodies production

She is coauthor of 80 publications on international journals and she participated at 130 national and international congresses, also as invited speaker.
